4. Aby grać wystarczy nieduża powierzchnia trawiasta, polana, boisko, działka.

What is Ground Golf & How do you play

1.  Development of new sports

It was devised in 1982 by the Tomari Village Board of Education as part of the Tomari Village Lifelong Sports Activity Promotion Project in Tohaku District, Tottori Prefecture.
It doesn’t require advanced skills, and it is a good combination of situations where you can exert your full power and situations where you can concentrate and adjust.
Also the rules are very simple, so even beginners can play immediately.

2. How to Play

Using a dedicated club, ball, hole post, and start mat, you can hit the ball with a club like golf and count the number of hits until you hole in the hole post.
The distance and the number of hole posts can be set freely depending on the location, and the rules are simple, so anyone can easily enjoy it anywhere.
There is also a hole-in-one, in which case there is a privilege of subtracting 3 from the total number of strokes in each hole, and it is devised to increase the encouragement and motivation of the player.

Special Equipment

For Players :-

Not much equipment is needed just a specific type of ground golf club
and specific ball is required.

For Organisers :-

Teeing mats and Flags (usually 8 required) and
scoresheets to mark down players scores

Features of ground golf

You
don’t need a standardized course environment, you can do anywhere with adequate space .
You can freely set the course anywhere, such as a playground, riverbed, park, garden, etc., according to the player’s purpose, environment, skill, etc.

Easy to prepare
You don’t have to dig a hole like golf, just install the start mat and hole post and you’re ready to go.

The rules are easy
Compared to other sports, the rules are extremely simple and you can learn them once you play.

There is no time limit Since the
game time is not fixed, you can enjoy playing according to the skill level, the number of friends, or the characteristics of the course, without being restricted by time.

Features of ground golf

With an unlimited number of players,
ground golf can be played by one person, or hundreds of people at a time if there is a place.
Since the ball does not fly in the air, if you devise the location of the holes, you can play safely even if you start from each hole at the same time.

Referees themselves The referees in the
game are the players themselves. If the decision is difficult, ask the companion player for consent.

Ground golf skills, which can be achieved without advanced skills, are improved by training, just like any other sport. However, you don’t necessarily need advanced skills to enjoy the game. Everyone from children to the elderly can have fun playing. Therefore, ground golf is a sport that has all the conditions to enjoy as a family sport.

Philosophy of Ground Golf ~

Ground golf philosophy

“A ground golf enthusiast is a model of a person who enjoys sports throughout his life, having three aspects: a person who plays, a person who can guide himself, and a person who can judge himself.” The late Mr. Hitoshi Shimazaki, who was deeply involved in the birth of ground golf, advocated that ground golf is widely accepted by many people because this idea and the following ideas are carefully inherited. It is nothing but.

“Sports that emphasize humans”
The idea is not to match people to sports, but to match people to the people who play. It is not bound by complicated rules like other sports, it has only 16 simple rules, and it does not require advanced technology. It’s a sport that everyone, regardless of age, gender, or disability, can enjoy, anytime, anywhere, and for life.
The fact that etiquette occupies as many as three articles at the beginning of the rules is a feature not found in other sports, and you can see that it is a sport that emphasizes dignity and behavior as a person.

“Sports that emphasize the process including results”
It is natural that you will enjoy winning as a result of playing, but more than that, the process of reaching the result is important, and the interaction and contact between players is very important. However, if the only goal is to win, you will start to cheat and complain about the play of your friends, and of course, you will not be able to build good relationships. I would like to continue to value exchanges and interactions in the process of playing.
Also, ground golf has the uncertainties of the consequences of not knowing who will win or lose. If you know the wins and losses from the beginning, you cannot enjoy the fun of playing. It is based on this idea that when a hole-in-one is achieved, it becomes minus 3, which is a major feature of ground golf. Even people with little sports experience may be ranked high when they achieve a hole-in-one, which allows them to enjoy the fun and joy of sports and increase their motivation and interest in continuing sports. It can be said that the minus 3 way of thinking is a basic way of thinking that must be adhered to in the future.

“Sports that emphasize autonomous behavior”
Player autonomy is emphasized, and fairness and fairness to judge oneself are strongly required. The reason why there are no referees in ground golf is that we attach great importance to this way of thinking. The sport of ground golf is based on the premise that no one violates the rules, and if there are people who cheat, it will not be ground golf. It is very important how you can control yourself.
I hear that there are people who interpret the rules in a way that suits them or violate the rules without hesitation, but this is a harmful effect caused by the supremacy of scores and the supremacy of victory. Furthermore, he lacks a sense of norm and ethics, and is a person who does not really love ground golf.
It is no exaggeration to say that if you cannot control yourself, you are not eligible to play ground golf. Ground golf is a player and a referee himself.
I want to have fun and comfortable play with fair play and good manners in mind.

Ground golf enthusiasts have a responsibility to inherit these basic principles and pass them on to the next generation. We hope that by correctly communicating this philosophy to many people, the number of enthusiasts will increase, and it will be useful for the correct understanding and popularization of ground golf.
